School Costs? There are NO tuition costs. However, there is a small student fee of 500 sek per semester. This fee covers fika during class as well as costs of copying class materials. Housing? You will be responsible to arrange your own housing and to cover your own housing costs while attending Acts. There are several housing options: Student apartments Registered students in Acts (Swedish & European students only) are eligible for student housing in various student apartment facilities in the city. Such housing is very affordable and is a great option. Subleasing an apartment Apartments are available in Stockholm for subleasing. Such apartments are advertised in newspapers and on websites. One good idea is for 2 or more students to sublease an apartment together for the year and share the costs. Renting a room in a home Rooms are sometimes available for rent in homes. These may also be advertised in newspapers or on websites. Sometimes families in the Acts partner churches may offer a room for rent to an Acts student. Transportation costs? There is really only ONE effective way to get around in Stockholm and that is using the public transport system. This includes the subway system (T-bana), the commuter train system (Pendeltåg) and the bus system. A monthly transportation card (Stockholms Linjetrafik kort) can be purchased which is valid for ALL these systems. All students will need to purchase an "SL" card. This SL card costs approx 700 swedish crowns per month. |
